Congratulations to the Finalists! Week 6 Results, Top Scores and Tee Times are posted for both groups. Tee times for those that qualified for the Finals Match Play round can be found by clicking here. Please be at least 15 minutes early for your scheduled tee time. If you are unable to make it, please contact your Group Secretary so the alternate can play in your place. For those not qualifying for the Finals competition, you are invited to compete in the Skills contest. For more information, please click here.

 

Medals will be given for 1^st – 4^th Place for Week 6. If you do not end up qualifying for the Finals, you are eligible to compete in the Skills contest held on the same day. Pizza and pop will be served.

 

You can use your MCJGA 2010 golf towels for the following area business discounts!

Marquette Golf Course: $2 for bucket of range balls
Red Fox: free golf to those 12 and under with a paying adult
Wawonowin: $3 off a bucket of range balls
NMU Golf Course: $7 for 9 holes and $10 for 18 holes

The Walker Schedules have now been posted. Please make sure to show up to walk for your scheduled day and time.

 

Peter Bloukos will be holding junior golf clinics for putting and chipping on Mondays at 7:00 pm at the Marquette Golf Course (weather permitting). If you have any questions, please contact Peter at 362-6655. There is no charge for the clinics.

Gordon C. Peterson Receives the Peter Bloukos Volunteer of the Year Award!

We are pleased to announce that Gordon accepted this award for his dedication to the Marquette County Junior Golf Association. Gordon volunteers each week during the season as the Starter for both the 9-hole and 5-hole divisions. He is dedicated to making sure the golfers practice good etiquette and is outstanding at keeping things running on time. We appreciate the time and effort he puts in for the organization each week. Congratulations Gordon!

Receiving honorable mention for their volunteerism is Kathy Daust and Mark Kugler.

Change in Medals

This year golfers will start earning medals starting in Week 3. The first two week’s scores will be used to obtain averages for assigning golfers to their proper flight. The top scores will still be published in the Mining Journal for weeks 1-2. Also, a third place medal will be awarded for weeks 3-5 and medals will be given to the 3^rd and 4^th place winners in week 6.
